Commentary by TrueDialog.org's Founder, Carl Lindemann

July 4th, 2007:

Happy 4th of July! It's a day to celebrate what drives TrueDialog.org.

Greetings and thank you for visiting.  There is much to report and much to comment about. Please be sure to check the news section to see about our first official action - calling for Maine's Governor and the state's legislative leadership to investigate the conduct of the Chair of the state's Ethics Commission.

While pulling that case together, I warmed up for launching this blog by engaging in an "exchange" on As Maine Goes, a conservative site. Apparently, the discussion became too hot to handle for the editor, Scott Fish. The topic turned to a matter that apparently inspired him to shut down the discussion and lock out further submissions. Before he did that, he apparently felt it necessary to remove something I had written. Was this censorship?

Today, Fish sent a message explaining himself:

You were asked a number of direct, legitimate questions in the prior thread which you refuse to answer - including my questions.

I have little patience for that.

Check the thread on his site. It wasn't that I refused to answer anything - it was that they could not answer back! So if his excuse is not true, what was it that got Fish so rattled? We'll try to solve the mystery  and see what this has to do with TrueDialog.org.
